Intrusion prevention

ASQ is the intrusion prevention engine on NETASQ appliances. This module provides the highest level of security for optimum performance and has been developed since 1998 in NETASQ's research and development laboratories. When combined with a firewall and embedded in a single appliance, the IPS complements the firewall's security features and guarantees intrusion prevention in real time. An embedded development such as this goes in line with NETASQ's aim to offer a UTM (Unified Threat Management) appliance that provides the highest level of security by combining several analysis methods.

Analysis methods

ASQ is based on the following analysis methods :   Protocol analysis   Contextual analysis   Heuristic analysis When these methods are combined, an immediate response can be given to new attacks and even unknown attacks can be prevented (0-day threat). ASQ is also able to detect and block backdoors, spyware and port scans, and can filter peer-to-peer connections, instant messaging and multimedia (radio) traffic.

	Common Criteria Certification
	ASQ, NETASQ's IPS module has been Common Criteria-certified, putting it in the same position as the other certified features (filtering, VPN, remote administration) that have been considered essential for security.
