The European Union has adopted the WEEE and ROHS directives with the aim of protecting the quality of the environment and our health.

The WEEE directive imposes the responsibility of recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in the Member States and imposes certain obligations on the producers of such equipment with regards to the treatment of WEEE.

The RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances) directive restricts the use of 6 hazardous substances in the manufacture of electrical and electronic appliances.

NETASQ products meet these requirements, as the following sections show.

  RoHS
  DEEE

RoHS

This directive provides that new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market for the first time from 1 July 2006 should not contain more than the restricted amount of the 6 following substances:

  Lead
  Mercury
  Cadmium
  Hexavalent chromium
  Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
  Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PDBE)

NETASQ products have complied with this directive.

WEEE and recycling netasq products

In order to meet its obligations regarding the treatment of WEEE and historical waste, NETASQ has entrusted its manufacturers with the treatment of its WEEE.

All treatment and recycling of WEEE and historical waste on behalf of NETASQ will be carried out according to the provisions of the WEEE directive.

All NETASQ products that are subject to the WEEE directive are marked with the mandated "crossed-out wheeled bin" symbol for items shipped on or after August 13, 2005. This symbol means that the product meets the requirements laid down by the WEEE directive with regards to the destruction and reuse of waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The cost of recycling NETASQ products put on the market after 13 August 2005 is factored into the price of the product.

For WEEE and historical waste put on the market before 13 August 2005, the cost of recycling waste as well as its transportation to a recycling facility will be absorbed by the client.

Attention: you will find here the NETASQ registration number related to WEEE conformance in the United Kingdom:

UK WEEE registration number: WEE/AF0079UU
