Innovations

NETASQ was created in 1998 with the vision of providing businesses of all sizes - from the SME consisting of but a few workstations to the largest multi-site infrastructures - with the ultimate level of security. The company was thus founded on technological innovation.

Wherever the best practices at the time recommended blocking access to private services (packet filters), NETASQ added to it the development of an engine to analyze authorized traffic (web, mail, etc). While all the other market players then placed their bets on attack detection solutions (IDS), this engine, ASQ, from its very first version, was the harbinger of what was to later become intrusion prevention.

Throughout the years, many more innovations were embedded in the range of NETASQ products - in 2002, a full module managing encrypted infrastructures (PKI) was integrated into NETASQ appliances.

Technology

Two years later, NETASQ went on to become the first vendor to unify various remote-access technologies by embedding the SSL VPN feature in its appliances. This new feature is an integral part of NETASQ's vision of unified security and adds on to the many others already present (Firewall, intrusion prevention, IPSEC VPN, web filtering, Antivirus, Antispam, etc).
