Version 7.0 of NETASQ UTM network security appliances
is the result of several years of effort aimed
at providing NETASQ customers with an innovative
and high-performance security solution. From
the beginning, NETASQ has always put its own
technology at the core of the UTM product line.
In fact, ASQ(Active
Security Qualification), a real-time intrusion
prevention engine, has achieved an unparalleled
level of efficiency and precision primarily
due to its combination of behavioural analyses
and contextual signatures included in the secure
operating system called NS-BSD.
As a result of numerous trademarked innovations in ASQ, NETASQ is the only security appliance provider to publish performance results with intrusion prevention enabled, and not merely performance results reflecting packet filtering (firewall). Moreover, all publicly announced performance numbers were measured with the help of Spirent lab testing solutions.
NETASQ products have evolved over time.
Antivirus analysis, the fight against SPAM, and URL filtering have all been added to intrusion prevention in order to effectively combat the rapidly spreading threats that connected enterprises face.

With
Version 7.0, NETASQ pushes the envelope of traditional
unified security. NETASQ SEISMO is a major innovation
in this release. It is the result of several
years of research and development that adds
risk management to the bag of tools available
to the network security administrator.
NETASQ SEISMO is based on a new analysis in
the ASQ engine that collects, sorts, and analyses
in real-time all network information. It does
this in order to create true identity verifications
of all machines on the network. NETASQ SEISMO
offers a new way to analyze security events
without impacting user performance or posing
a risk to the infrastructure. Vulnerability
detection, an inventory of current network services,
real-time alert notifications, and even annual
reports on the evolution of risks are all possible
using a wide variety of available methods. NETASQ
SEISMO offers an unprecedented level of control
and analysis.
In order to be efficient security administration
must be based on tools that are simple and easy
to use. The administration tools in version
7.0 offer real assistance for configuring and
monitoring an excellent security policy.
NETASQ UNIFIED MANAGER efficiently combines
a topology view, which is ideal for viewing
an entire network, with an intuitive interface
dedicated to each appliance. It includes numerous
wizards to facilitate an efficient security
policy configuration.
NETASQ REAL-TIME MONITOR considerably simplifies
the daily analysis effort. Real-time security
event analysis is critical to a security administrator.
It integrates a full network view, a dashboard
per UTM, and the possibility to sort and filter
alarms and vulnerabilities.
NETASQ EVENT REPORTER allows not only sorting
and filtering events from log files but also
generates reports automatically. More than 70
report sections are provided and as a result
of flexibility offered in creating reports,
the possibilities are endless.
